ABOUT ME

I'm Patrick and I am a fully qualified MBACP Integrative counsellor, also trained in dedicated CBT. (CBT Dip) . Mugshot is in the Contact page.

I am Licenced and Registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Registration number: 9054007. My practice is professionally insured and regulated as per BACP requirements, whose ethical code I follow.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I can utilise the 3 most popular and recognised types of therapy in the UK into my practice, namely Person Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic Therapy, which mean I can tailor therapy to suit the client, rather than the other way round.

For individuals that specifically seek dedicated CBT I acquired the standalone CBT qualification after Integrative training therefore can offer CBT on it's own or more often than not in conjunction with Integrated Therapy.

CBT elements may be suitable for clients with a desire for a more 'hands on' or 'solution based' approach, because they may learn new skills, coping strategies or simply healthier ways of thinking. It's worthwhile considering especially if previous therapy has not produced a worthwhile outcome.

I am proud to be recognised as one of the most inventive, motivational and skilled counsellors in the profession; working closely with clients to achieve measurable results we can both be proud of.

I love what I do. I love seeing the transformation in clients where other Counsellors just couldn't figure it out or ran out of ideas.

I come from a high stress, strong and varied business background, which is unusual for the counselling profession but quite possibly helps me.

I currently provide my services to Private Clients, Serenity Healthcare through EAP programmes, and NHS professionals.

Patrick Whelan BA(Hons), MBACP, Dip Couns, Dip CBT.
